Henssler & Henssler – Hamburg
On a trip to Hamburg we decided to visit the restaurant of a German TV chef in order to check the Quality of his food. People tend to believe everything they see on TV so we went to the Henssler & Henssler Japanese fusion restaurant. We ordered a miso soup with tofu (€4.50) and Henssler’s big sushi mix for €26 plus green tea (£4.50) and warm sake 0.1 litres (£5.50) to drink. The sushi variations look very basic and not special at all but it tastes much better than the regular sushi that you get in most other Japanese Restaurants in Germany. Of course you still can’t compare it with with the quality that you get in cities like Tokyo. The miso soup has an aromatic flavour and are served with crackers and delicious sour dip sauce.
The atmosphere in this food sightseeing spot is a bit noisy, especially when you sit inside, but it has a certain flair because of its close location to the harbour. Although the service is actually very friendly, we felt a bit disregarded. More than one hour has passed until our ordered sushi plate arrived.
If you are a big fan of the chef’s TV Shows then you can buy here a lot of Henssler fan items.
Conclusion: The fish specialities here are worth a try if you have enough patience.
