London – Jamie Olivers Fifteen

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)

When it comes to the most famous chefs in the world, his name often comes first. Jamie Oliver has been running his non-profit restaurant Fifteen in eastern London for a long time, so it was About time for foodseeing to drop by . However, it should be mentioned that the master himself is not standing at the stove. After a friendly greeting, the bright and very chic bar area is immediately noticeable, which of course is decorated with some of Jamie’s cookbooks. Also very trendy is the oven in the middle of the room. The menu is offers many variations, for example fish or Italian-inspired dishes. As you know, Jamie’s mentor is Italian and so we order gnocchi with artichokes as a starter. The gnocchi filled with a really delicious potato filling with crunchy sage leaves are truly outstanding. Our main course is a very juicy salmon garnished with mini shrimps and beetroot. And finally Italian again: Vanilla Pannacotta, with lemon and a really great pistachio cracker. The Pannacotta dessert is not as brilliant as to the other courses, but the overall impression is very convincing. There is no bread before the dishes but the prices are very moderate for the high food quality you get at Oliver’s Fifteen and the attentive service. If you want, you can also enjoy creative cocktails at the bar. Fans of Jamie Oliver should definitely visit this foodseeing spot, even if the chances to meet him here are not big.
